Michael J. Fuchs was named chairman and chief executive officer of Home Box Office in October 1984. He is responsible for the overall management of the nation's largest pay-TV company.
Fuchs joined HBO in September 1976, initially in charge of original and sports programming. In March 1984, he was promoted to president and chief operating officer of HBO, responsible for the day-to-day administration of all the company's operating activities.
